Our Installation Process
Free Home Survey
We visit your property at a time that suits you, assess your current system, measure your heating requirements, and discuss your preferences. This typically takes 30-45 minutes.
Written Quote
Within 24-48 hours of the survey, we send you a detailed, written quote. This includes the boiler model, all parts and materials, labour, and any additional work required. The price is fixed -- it will not change on installation day.
Installation Day
Most straightforward boiler swaps are completed in a single day (6-8 hours). More complex installations, such as boiler relocations or system conversions, may take two days. Our engineers arrive at the agreed time, protect your floors and furnishings, and get to work.
Commissioning and Testing
Once the boiler is installed, we commission it according to the manufacturer's specifications. This includes checking gas pressure, flow rates, flue emissions, and safety devices. We complete the benchmark checklist and ensure everything is working perfectly.
Handover
We walk you through your new boiler's controls, show you how to adjust the heating and hot water settings, and answer any questions you have. We also register your warranty with the manufacturer and submit the necessary Building Regulations notification.
Aftercare
We are here after the installation too. If you have any questions or concerns about your new boiler in the weeks and months following installation, just call us. We also recommend booking your first annual service 12 months after installation to keep your warranty valid.

Choosing the Right Boiler Type
There are three main types of domestic boiler, and each suits a different type of property. Choosing the right one matters more than choosing the right brand.
Combi Boilers
A combi (combination) boiler heats water on demand directly from the mains -- there is no hot water cylinder or cold water tank. This makes combis compact, efficient, and ideal for smaller to medium-sized homes.
Best for: 1-3 bedroom properties with one bathroom, where space is limited and hot water demand is moderate. Most homes in Chatham, Strood, and the terraced streets of Gillingham are well suited to combis.
Consideration: If you have two or more bathrooms and people regularly shower at the same time, a combi may struggle to keep up. In that case, a system boiler is usually the better choice.
System Boilers
A system boiler works with a hot water cylinder (usually in an airing cupboard) but does not need a cold water tank in the loft. The cylinder stores hot water, so multiple taps and showers can run simultaneously without a drop in pressure.
Best for: 3-4+ bedroom homes with two or more bathrooms. Common in the larger detached and semi-detached houses found in Rochester, Rainham, and parts of Gillingham.
Consideration: You need space for a hot water cylinder. The trade-off is that you get strong, consistent hot water to multiple outlets at once.
Conventional (Regular) Boilers
A conventional boiler works with both a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank in the loft (a gravity-fed system). While these are the oldest type of boiler system, they are still appropriate for some properties.
Best for: Older properties that already have a gravity-fed system and where the homeowner does not want to change the pipework. Also suitable for homes with very high hot water demand. Some period properties in Rochester's conservation area still run on conventional systems.
Consideration: Conventional systems take up the most space and are the least efficient of the three types. If your existing conventional boiler needs replacing, we will discuss whether converting to a combi or system boiler could save you money and space.
Will a New Boiler Reduce My Energy Bills?
In most cases, yes -- and often significantly. If your current boiler is more than 10-12 years old, it is likely running at 70-80% efficiency (or worse). Modern A-rated condensing boilers operate at 90%+ efficiency. That means more of the gas you pay for is actually converted into heat for your home.
The Energy Saving Trust estimates that replacing an old G-rated boiler with a modern A-rated condensing boiler could save you £200 to £580 per year on your energy bills, depending on your home and heating usage.
Over the 12-15 year lifespan of a new boiler, those savings add up to thousands of pounds -- often enough to cover the cost of the installation itself.
Finance Options
We understand that a new boiler is a significant investment. That is why we offer flexible finance options that allow you to spread the cost over affordable monthly payments. This means you can get a new, energy-efficient boiler installed now without paying the full amount upfront.
Ask us about our current finance options when you request a quote. We will explain the terms clearly and help you find a payment plan that works for your budget.
